Job Description
As a Lead Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the core data infrastructure that powers our analytics and machine learning systems. You will lead a team of engineers, define data architecture strategies, and ensure the reliability and scalability of our data pipelines. This role bridges engineering and analytics — ensuring our data systems are robust, efficient, and aligned with business goals.
Job Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and delivery.
- Own the data architecture strategy and ensure alignment with business needs.
- Build and maintain data warehouses, lakes, and real-time streaming systems.
- Optimize query performance and data storage costs.
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to deliver high-quality datasets.
- Establish data governance policies, monitoring, and alerting systems.
- Stay updated with emerging data technologies and best practices.
- Mentor and guide junior data engineers on the team.
Job Requirements
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role.
Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for data processing.
- Experience with tools like Apache Spark, Airflow, dbt, or Kafka.
- Familiarity with cloud data services (AWS Redshift, GCP BigQuery, Snowflake).
- Knowledge of data modeling, warehousing, and ETL/ELT patterns.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code.
